I suspect the toaster oven is not doing the same job as a broiler but bacon should not get crisp it is on the fillet for moisture . Five to seven minutes in oven under broiler should be adequate. I expect toaster oven is not generating enough wattage/heat to grill and it is baking the meat..Does the booklet indicate you can grill with it?
How to bake a turkey leg and a turkey wing?
Its just like baking chicken. I would lower the heat to 350 and cover with foil to keep the turkey from drying out though since the wing is thinner than the thigh. Cook it for 35 minutes and then take off the foil. Cook for another 10 - 15 uncovered and you should be good to go.

First off, gotta stop the cutting, it's only adding to the harm, hunting yourself physically to help relieve emotional pain isn't the way to solve a problem. For your parents, I would try to help them through their problems, if you could tell them you need to sit down and talk because they're hurting you then you can perhaps tell them you are in a bad place and their fighting is only hurting you and them self's...If you think about the problem you never find a solution, but rather think of the solution and one will come. Can an ear piercing that has gotten infected cause other problems?
I got my ears pierced 5 weeks ago and since then i have had to change the earings to sleepers as the studs that were put in were to Small for my ear. After that I had no problems until about a week ago i got the sleeper caught on a pillow and pulled the clip part through the hole. It has become infected (i clean it regularly and spray with anteseptic spray). I have started developing headaches and have been vomiting. Could the infection in the piercing have caused this?
Can I use dental floss to truss a roast?
I have already trussed it with the floss, waxed nylon standard floss. The roast is resting, uncooked in the refrigerator until I want to cook it tonight. My concern is will the floss catch fire or melt into my roast? I don't care if it burns off, I just don't want anything to happen to the food! I have badly burnt food on the bottom of my stock pot, how do I get it off?
I made soup yesterday, but I didn't add enough liquid. Some of the solid food burnt badly enough to make a hard black layer on the bottom of the pot. After getting the still edible stuff out I boiled dish water and let it sit overnight. Some of the char came off, but how do I get all of it off?

This, YA community, is where I need some help. I would really prefer answers from those who have spent some time in the trenches with these beasts. Do I score it to help release fat/salt during the baking process? Leave it whole and wait till the last 30 minutes and remove the rind and then score/glaze and broil? Cook it in a slightly sugary sweet broth. How would you cook a genuine Smithfield ham. You could roast one or bake one, but broiling would burn the outside and leave the inside raw.

Make sure the oven is heated for at least 10 min, and put your pork in and let it broil fir about 8 minutes, checking it to see if it's browning well. Flip it and check after 5 minutes, use a instant-read thermometer if you have one, but if you don't, cut a slit in the top and peek inside. The internal temp should reach 150degF to be completely, safely done.

She looks like a Labrador Retriever mix. I do see some Rhodesian Ridgeback, too. I can tell she is part Pembroke Welsh Corgi, too. Australian Cattle Dog is definitely possible. Broiler Pan needed for bacon wrapped filet?
They suggest a broiler pan because the broiler heat will hit all sides of the meat making the bacon crispy which is a must. Since you dont have a broiler and just a pan you can still make them just make sure to place fillet on its side to crisp up the bacon too :)

How do I cook salmon a healthy way?
I can't use any olive oil, butter, or anything you normally use to pan-fry anything. Can't use cheese. I can broil, bake, grill...any of the healthy ways to cook. I need some tips. Everything I make tastes so lemony. I can use pam.

How to get rid of huge cellulite legs?
i lost 68 pounds and still losing however now thelegs are covered of course with cellulite and looks bad. How can i tone them without getting surgery. I still have another 60 to 70 pounds to go and over 40. I am down from 24 to 18 and hopefully by the summer would like to be a sixteen. My legs and arms are horrible unless i cover with long sleeves and of course pants. Any suggestions would be helpful. Right now i am doing atkins, 30 minuets on the eliptical and i am using the eliptical with the parts that move the arms. I am currently going to purchase a at home eliptical and maybe take a zumba class or by a wi. I was told maybe toning shoes. How long will it take to see results?? I dont run i just walk really fast. I have asthma so i kinda watch the heavy running but i am willing to start that soon just to get the legs right. I had asthma as a kid bad but not as bad as an adult except if i get a really bad cold.

Both will probably be expensive, campus more so if they have mandatory meal plans. Campus living will be more fun, because you'll be more engaged in campus life, make more friends, have more things to do in whatever spare time you may have (very little). Apartments are good too especially if you're going to a party college, and you think it'll be noisy in rez. I would choose campus, just because I would think its more fun.

Hey I'm 17 and i cant drive in till I'm 18. My mom keeps saying no, but she let my sis drive when she turned 16. I just started my diet two days ago and been doing so good so far I've been drinking 8 glasses of water a day, no salt, no sugar, broiled fish/chicken, oatmeal special k cereal, whole grains, fruit, veggies etc.. I won't to lose 3-4 pounds a week if possible but since it's cold out I haven't exercised and without out diet pills. Ok I'm a junior in high school right now. Im currently in independent studies because of poor choices in the past during my frist two years in high school. I only have about 37 credits so far. Yes I know it's low and regret every part of my freshman and sophomore years. I was thinking of asking my parents to get me into a military boarding school so they can help me out and also make me as a more independent person because right now I'm having everything I want and I know for a fact in the future it's going to come and bite me in the butt. My plan was getting in the military boarding school and work my butt off and hopefully get into one of the military universities once I graduate. I one day want to actually join the united states army and become the highest rank because I'll do anything to help the country I love the most and thats the united states of America. Is my plan already immpossible or can I still make a dramatic comeback?

What are these red bumps on my chest and back?
For about a month, I have noticed these bumps on my back (most around the shoulder blade area and back of neck), parts of my shoulders, and on my chest. Some of them are red, and they can get very very itchy. They're especially itchy while Im taking a shower, or when I get out. I have been putting on itch relief lotion when I get out of the shower, but that only helps for the time being.( Heres some information that could be helpful?) I am a 14 year old female. I guess you could say my skin is sensative because I am allergic to nickel, bandaids (if worn on the same spot for some time) and during winter my knuckes get dry and cracked. My friend told me it could be eczema, and I know that my dad can have problems with that. Does anyone have a clue of what this could be?

How would you cook 1" prime rib steaks?
Received a frozen prime rib that was cut into 8 1" steaks. Certainly not my preferred way of getting this type of quality meat but it was free! What is the advantage of broiling chicken rather than baking?
There is no advantage to broiling. If you broil a chicken you have to cut it up and it still may not get done internally. If you bake it it will crisp up and get done on the inside. That is my opinion and I do a lot of cooking.

I live in the San Diego Area and like it, it is just too expensive. Considering moving to Bakersfield because it is cheaper. I know that it is cheaper for a reason, two being that the summers are pretty harsh and air quality is not very good. Could someone give me a ballpark answer on how many months out of the year are in that broiling/roasting range (90+). I lived in Tucson for 18 months and the 7 months of roasting hot weather was a deal breaker, I can take 3-4 months no problem. Thanks in advance for the answer !
How to make a flavorful and juicy chicken breast?
I am not much of a cook, but I am really trying! I bake well but have difficulty with meat, especially chicken. I marinated chicken breast in a teriyaki marinade I purchased from the store, for 3 hours then baked it in a Pyrex (I don't have a grill or a broiling pan) at 350 for 45 minutes. It was cooked all the way through, so I took it out. I wasn't too hungry yet, so I had some an hour later and it was sort of dry with very little flavor, despite the marinade. :( What am I doing wrong? For some reason, I can't seem to cook meat. I have even thought of becoming vegetarian because I don't seem to like the way I prepare it, so I tend to avoid eating it. Any tips?

I'm a broiling fool. i rarely if ever fry anything let alone a good steak. However, if the stove has burners at the top of the oven, you may be able to turn the heat up and use it as a broiler. Other wise, I would look for a different stove. Mine is new, just barely a year old, and I have a broiler.

Secondly it sounds like you've had a rough go of it lately and this is not something you need to burden yourself with. I dont not know a whole lot about the languages that you can use Netbeans to write code in. I have only used Netbeans to write code in Java. If my theory is correct, the IDE thinks you are trying to write a Java code when it is in fact a C++ code. I also, could be completely wrong.
I have a gas oven and it will only heat on broil is it the switch that needs to be replaced?

Why does my NiMH battery get hot?
I currently received 2 NiMH batteries and a charger. They came with an electronic device I bought. They are appear to be all silver polished metal with no plastic casing to show a brand name. The first thing I noticed while charging is they get very hot. I researched this and found out it was quite normal. Another time after that one of the batteries got very hot in my pocket but not serious. Just today I was traveling and both of the batteries were in a loose bag together not being used. When I went to pick them out they were both VERY hot. Too hot to touch. I separated them and let em cool and discovered some white crust that may be acid or something. One of them also has a black char mark like it was burned. I have searched for some time and found nothing that says these batteries cannot touch each other. So what the heck is going on here? Are they faulty? What should I do?

A relative told me this disturbing myth about how in some houses a a disturbing creature crawls around in the basment. I'm caught in between an argument between my daughter and her step mother, what do i do?
My daughter is 24, is well adjusted and will soon get her master's degree in business. She lives on her own closer to the college she attends with a roommate. My wife (her step mother) and I have been together for 10 yrs, married for 7. I have my daughter, she has two sons, 24 and 27. The younger son has a g/f and young son, living with her parents. Her older son lives with my wife and I. My wife and daughter have gotten along well together all this time until a trip we (wife, daughter and I) recently took to see a pro football game. At the game we all got into a disagreement on how a situation we encountered was being handled by my wife. My wife wanted to let the travel agent we got the tickets through know that they weren't the tickets we were promised. My daughter and I were anxious to just get settled in the seats that we did have and wanted her to call the agent later. After my wife finished her call, my daughter made a comment to her that didn't sit well with my wife that started an exchange of words. Instead of butting in, I foolishly walked away, mostly because I was freaked out, I guess, that this was happening. My wife went and got seated herself, leaving us behind. I was advising my daughter that she shouldn't have said anything, but being the strong willed person she is, she did. She commented that part of the reason was that she also didn't like the way my wife was treating me on the trip (being bossy, taking me for granted). A side of my wife she hadn't previously seen I guess. At this point my daughter was upset with me letting my wife talk to her the way she did and my wife mad at me for not standing up for her. After making a call to her b/f, he advised her to apologize to my wife, which she surprisingly did, which cooled the situation, at least for the rest of the game. When we got back to the hotel, she went to her room and we ours without any further incident. The blank really hit the fan the next night when we were returning from a long day trip. My daughter,who was sitting in the front seat, rolled her window down to take a photo, sending a rush of cold air into the rear of the car where my wife was sitting. She kinda snapped for my daughter to close the window, which she did reluctantly. She then replied she was going to open the window again for a short time and did, which set my wife off. My wife rolled off a few insults, calling her a spoiled brat and something about her mother which my daughter responded negatively to. Luckily we were scheduled to leave the next day. My wife told my daughter that she didn't want her coming to our house till we all cool off which my daughter took as indefinitely and was really upset. Now that we're home, my wife and I have settled our differences and wants to try and get things as close to how they were before we left. My wife has suggested all three of us go see a counselor, which I wholeheartedly agree to, but my daughter totally refuses. She says that me and my wife need to go to counseling for the way my wife treats me etc. In a way she does have a point, we do have issues. My daughter looks at my wife in a totally different light since the trip. Right now I'm really missing my daughter. There has never been a rift like this between us. She's really mad at me. A cowl vent is usually a vent on hood. Without knowing what you're driving hard to offer anything else. email me if need be. Ok looked at picture that's the cowl that lets water run off windshield and also air intake for heat. If broken or cracked will let leaves etc. into heater and block drains that let water rain. It will be a dealer item and will have to be ordered. It's not a normal maintenance item.

Is there a list of basic foods that vegans cannot eat besides the obvious?
I am starting a vegan diet. I have been a vegetarian for 4 years so I got that covered.. but how do i make the transition to being vegan? I know not to eat any dairy, egg or honey. And obviously continue not eating meat, fish, gelatin. But it seems to be more complicated than that. Is there a list of basic foods that I cant eat? Like i heard white sugar is made in bone char. Also what about different products like deodorant? Some one told me most aren't vegan. So I just would like a basic list of stuff that are never vegan and things you have to check the ingredients on. Do you guys know of any good websites like that?

Kitchen Aid Countertop Oven Model KC0111CU releasing an overpowering smell of burning plastic?
We just bought this oven from Macy's a week ago and have used it once. We are afraid of usung it again, because the first time, we broiled fish for less than half an hour and within five minutes of turning on the countertop oven, the entire kitchen smelled as if there was burning plastic. This strong smell did not go away until the next evening. Also, the area around the countertop oven was looking a bit smoky--you couldn't clearly see smoke floating, but it definitely was not a clear environment. Has anyone experienced the same problem with this model? I'm thinking of returning it because I am so afraid to turn it on--I cannot smell the same thing from last week, it smelled absolutely poisonous! I appreciate all the feedback.

Should I be making my daughter get back on her horse after falling off?
My daughter is 10y/o. She has loved and been taking english lessons for the past four years on a 13hand pony. We bought land and moved to a new area and joined the 4-H drill team in our new area. She was having a great time on one of the drill team members horses but then that member needed to sell her horse for some extra money. I decided to let my daughter ride my 6 y/o gilding, who has been used for hunter/jumper. I have had him since he was three weeks old, due to the death of his mother, and I trained him myself using Clinton Andersons teachings....so I really know this horse. He is not a mean or hateful horse...he is a good horse, but young. The second week she fell off - at a canter. I did not see the fall but she hurt her arm pretty bad and it took about a week before she could lift it again. She refused to get back on him and has still not done so 10 weeks later. She has howerver been riding my mare at drill team who is 15y/o and is a been there done that horse. She says she is still nervous and does not want to go to drill team because she does not want to canter. She will get on and trot but only when I tell her she is part of a team and we have to do our part by practicing...I go out with her and she will get on and W/T only. She wont go on a trail ride with me or even out of the arena. She is so nervous and I am not sure what to do. You can see she wants to be around the horses, but does not want to get on. I am making her get on. Am I wrong for this? I told her when she can work her way up to cantering again with out freaking out I would let her make the decision to stay in drill team or to drop out. I told her I did not want her making this decision out of fear because she would run away from what she feared for the rest of her life. I really had good intentions with this, but as any mom I am really thinking I am hurting her rather than helping her. Please, please help me do what is right for her. I do not have all the answers and I really need some help. I do not want to end up killing what she loves the most, but I also do not want her to be so freaked out and crying herself to sleep after every drill team practice! This is killing me!!!!! I do have the option of driving back to her trainer once a week for lessons on the 13hand poney she uses to ride. It is only about 45 min. away. I did not know if that would be taking her back instead of going forward. I am not a trainer, and really just dont know how to handle this situation so please dont think I am being stupid by not having the right answers...I am just a mom who has not idea what the best way to deal with this situation would be..

You should cook him an old boot and save your money. Cooking a t-bone past medium is simply a waste of money and good cow. There are actually restaurants that will not guarantee the quality of a steak if it is ordered cooked more than medium.

I hate broiling things as it does make a mess. Poach the salmon in enough water to cover with a bit of onion, celery and a carrot with a splash of white wine or lemon juice, a bay leaf and a pepper corn or two. The salmon will be cooked in 10 minutes at a simmer, for 30 minutes if it is a whole fish.... then when it is done - take it out of the water with a lifter aka fish slice - carefully and put it on your warmed plate next to the boiled potato and steamed veg and Woila dinner is served, Before you sit down to dinner pour the poaching liquid through a strainer down the drain so the house won't smell like fish.
