What exactly does this mean and how do I do it?

Broil is a setting on your oven. You can use any kind of cook ware that goes into your oven. Broil cooks from the top part of your oven, then elements. Great for finishing off a dish...like when you make oven grilled cheese, I use the broil setting, makes the cheese nice and bubbly.
